The Training Track opens March 1 which will officially kick off spring training on the grounds...Although you may want to enjoy breakfast a few days earlier in Charlie's Backstretch Diner which will be open February 25

grooms and exercise riders: Employment Opportunites effective March 1 to September 25, 2012. Grooms $500 to $525 per week.  Exercise riders $10. per horse per gallop, contact Joanie 204-832-4949

2012 Groom School will be offered mid March. Please contact the HBPA office to register.

The Awards Banquet to honor the stars of 2011 will be held May 4, 2012, main floor Assiniboia Downs Grandstand. Tickets will be available mid March from the CTHS, HBPA and MJC offices.

2012 Honorary Horse Owner Program - The HBPA and MJC are once again teaming up to offer this program which has proven to be a successful vehicle to promote new ownership in Manitoba.

Horsemen if you would like to participate with one or more horses from your barn please contact the HBPA to register them.

Race Fans and horse lovers! For a nominal fee, you can be matched with a horse or horses. Each time they run, you'll be notified and invited to come to the races to watch them run.  If they win, you get to join the Trainer and the real owners for the win picture. Visits to the barn to meet your horse and feed him treats can also be arranged.  If you've ever wondered what it feels like to own a racehorse, this program provides a risk free opportunity to explore  your options.
